The Life Course Center (LCC) warmly welcomes visiting scholars— post-docs, research staff, or faculty members from other institutions who are actively engaged in aging and life course research.
Scholars visiting LCC for more than a month need to be an official LCC Visiting Scholar. Any visitor requiring a visa, UCard, or keycard access to LCC spaces also needs to be an official Visiting Scholar, regardless of the length of stay. Visiting Scholars must be approved by the LCC Advisory Board.
All visiting scholars must have an LCC sponsor—an LCC faculty or research staff member—who takes responsibility for integrating the visitor into the social and intellectual life of the LCC.
To request a visiting scholar, the UMN sponsor must provide the following information, via email, to [email protected]:
- Intellectual rationale for the visit
- Dates of proposed visit
- What is needed from LCC (e.g., work space, computer, visa application support, UCard, etc.)
- Statement from the sponsor of how they will integrate the visitor into the social and intellectual life of the LCC
- CV from proposed visiting scholar
