Pilot Grant Program
The LCC Pilot Grant Program sparks bold, interdisciplinary research on the demography and economics of aging. Designed to fuel innovation and collaboration, the program empowers LCC researchers and partners to tackle pressing questions about health, equity, and well-being in later life—exploring how social and economic contexts shape the aging experience. We offer two types of pilot grants: one supporting emerging scholars launching their research careers, and another for high-impact or time-sensitive projects that push the boundaries of aging research. Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowships
Each year, the Graduate School awards a select group of exceptional PhD students the prestigious Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellowship (IDF)—a one-year opportunity to collaborate with world-class faculty at the University’s leading research centers and institutes. The Life Course Center is proud to be one of these participating hubs, offering fellows a dynamic environment to pursue bold, cross-disciplinary research on aging, health, and social change. Click here to learn more about this exciting opportunity on the Graduate School’s IDF website and watch the Institute for Advanced Study’s info session to hear directly from past fellows and program leaders.
